Hello everyone. This month is about sports and one of them that is really important here in Poland, and for Polish people, is soccer. It may seem surprising but soccer is always a big event: every match is watched and attended, even those with other clubs or other teams that are not very famous. In Warsaw, there is the Legia team, which is the team of the city, and there is a specific stadium with the same name. The supporters of Legia are always very passionate about winning, and sometimes can even be aggressive if their team loses. They are called the 'hooligans.' But I think Polish supporters are, in general, a bit aggressive when it comes about soccer. I could see that with recent matches that took place in the other stadiums of Warsaw, but this time much bigger, the “Stadium Narodowy,” the National Stadium, which is located very close to my house so that’s why I am able to see the atmosphere and the supporters. I can even hear when there is a goal when there are big matches of the Polish team. There are also a lot of concerts of international singers or bands, for example Sting or ACDC. Currently, they use a part of the stadium to house Ukrainian refugees. Finally, I must talk about the most famous Polish player, known all over the world, Robert Lewandoski. In Poland, he is a star and everyone loves him. He plays in the national team as the captain which, by the way, went to the quarter final of the Euro championship in 2016, and in the club of Bayern Munich.
In conclusion, soccer is a very famous sport because it gathers people, makes them proud of their country and it is the case here in Poland, where this sport has a very important place.
