In France, many sports are practiced. Famous sports are soccer, rugby, and basketball. But in France, there is a sport that every French person has practiced at least once in their life: bowls or "la pétanque" in French. It’s a typical French sport that is not physically intense but very fun to practice with family or even at school.
Living at Toulouse, a town reputed for rugby, I can say that this sport is very important in France too. This year, the rugby team won the Six Nation Tournament! Here rugby is so important that each year a rugby player from the Toulouse club comes to school to make students play rugby and try to engage them into his club.
Another important sport in France is cycling. Every year, during the France Tour, thousands of people watch the race and wait to see who will be the famous yellow jersey, the winner of the 23 days’
race. Car races are also followed by a lot of French people.
France will host the next Olympic Games in Paris in 2024!
