Stephanie Garber is an American author, well-known for her young adult fantasy trilogy titled Caraval and consisting of the books Caraval, Legendary, and Finale. Caraval is about a young woman named Scarlett Dragna. After years of waiting, she finally receives an invitation to Caraval: a yearly magical performance where the audience participates in the show. However, things soon begin to go terribly wrong as her sister Donatella is kidnapped by the mastermind behind the whole Caraval: Legend. As Scarlett attempts to find her sister with the help of a sailor named Julian, she quickly discovers that whatever happens in the game is only an elaborate performance, no matter how real it may seem.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. It is full of magic, mystery, and more! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves books in the fantasy genre. It is a fun read that will keep you on the edge of your seat at every turn, wondering whether what is happening in the game Caraval is real or just another illusion!
